Strasbourg the European capital

New York, Geneva and Strasbourg are the only cities in the world which house internat ional inst i tut ions without being national capitals. The choice of Strasbourg as the European capital following the Second World War is no accident. The city stands as
a shining symbol of reconciliation between people and of the future of Europe. Discovering Europe's institutions is also a great opportunity to admire some marvellous examples of contemporary architecture.

Here I can push open doors that lead to the new and unknown
At Ciarus, we want you to travel even more - you will get tourist documentation, access to the Internet, exhibitions about the rich local heritage, the cultural activities calendar, a diary of things to do in the city, information about Europe and French-German exchange, so that you can be sure not to miss anything! And if you need any help, the Tourism department will advise you on what you would most enjoy. Because we want to share our traditions with you and enable the younger generation to get in touch with the great festivals of today, whether local or from elsewhere, our entertainment department has developed a festive, cheerful and colourful atmosphere, which can sometimes even be magical. The Plateau will do its bit by serving dishes from your childhood, using local produce or specialities from across the world.
