Halsbury work experience: professional experience abroad

For one week, CIARUS welcomed Elizabeth for a training course in reception and accommodated more than 40 of her sidekicks, young English students who had come to take on a professional experience over the water.
An opportunity for them to mix practising a foreign language and enrich their studies with a European experience.
This programme is aimed at high school students specialised in languages.

It was also a chance for these youngsters to discover French and Alsatian culture: tour of the city, good food and shopping…

In reception, Elizabeth was able to speak… er… English, as we welcome people from all over the world as well as French people, of course! A real challenge to get over her shyness. For 5 days, the regulars at Le Plateau were able to hear her pretty "so British" accent announcing that the restaurant was open.

Interested in the tourist business, she also discovered the work of the booking agent.

There is nothing out of the ordinary in welcoming trainees to Ciarus. All year round, in reception, in the kitchen, in maintenance, the various departments at CIARUS get involved in this activity.

For promoting access to culture and training for youngsters is part and parcel of CIARUS' values, a project in its own right.
