Next to the seminaries....
The Ciarus is the venue chosen by the theology faculties of Heidelberg, Montpellier, and Strasbourg to launch their new research project. Rites, ethics, memory, community, and a host of other subjects to be investigated by way of "The religious expectations of our contemporaries".
Anne Faisandier, Pastor of Lyon, tells us what the Ciarus represents for such a seminary gathering: "The Ciarus is a place of international welcome, which gives us the means to find ourselves by way of our project of working together."
Understand what is needed by way of logistics: There need to be good and welcoming conditions for working, eating, and sleeping; this is important if ideas are going to merge.
Understand also the means of opening up to others: An environment and surroundings that mean meetings really will take place. Here, between French and Germans, between people from Alsace and from Old France, between Lutherans and reformists, between people from religious and university walks of life.
Mission accomplished for the Ciarus, which hopes to see the group again in the course of their work, scheduled to last for three years.
