Christmas: a symbol?

 A symbol of what?

Of our consumer society? Here, we have other ideas. In this Advent period, we want to believe in a world that's united.

On 1 December, Ciarus is to welcome a group of travellers who are a little special:

they come from Haiti, India, Rwanda and the Czech Republic and work for NGOs. “Over there”, they take care of a united economy, peasant farming, democracy and access to citizenship. For a long time, aid was a response to what was called “conciliation politics”, but for Frères des Hommes (the association which looks after the NGOs who stay with us) “helping doesn't mean assisting”.

On what kind of relationship can a common future built? How are we Europeans perceived at the other side of the world?

On 1 December this year, come and share your point of view with our guests over a friendly get-together at lunchtime or in a debate during pre-dinner drinks (17h to 19h). Human rights, globalisation, sustainable development, it all starts like this, meeting people, allowing us to discover the other, taking a step back. A united, responsible Christmas so that everyone feels able to take up a position and therefore to ask himself what his share of the responsibility is in the global market…
