A first class second choice!

On 4 February, the final year social and economic sciences classes from a high school in Montpelier arrived at Ciarus.
"We had planned to go to Germany to visit a Mercedes factory but the financial crisis has led to short-time working, making this visit impossible. My colleagues and I then thought about this programme in Strasbourg."
Wednesday: history and geography with the tour of the European Parliament
Thursday: visit to the Clairefontaine paper mill in Etival for the course in economic and social sciences
Friday: extension of the French course on the Surrealist Movement with a visit to the Hans Arp Exhibition (Art is Arp) at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
In the end, they were not disappointed to have changed their plans.
The pupils were even able to add a subject to this programme: practising English with the youngsters from the Year 9 Immersion Course group they met at Ciarus.
Not even tired by these very full days, the evenings in the bar were enlivened by their good mood, the guitar tucked away in their luggage and the songs they sang (not always very tuneful after a certain time of night, it has to be said...).
