Our commitments
At Ciarus, we want to make the world a better place by small everyday deeds. Our commitments to sustainable development are based on three complementary axes: environmental, food and social practices.
Environmental practices
Water-saving system, green cleaning agents, low-energy light bulbs, waste sorting, systems to limit noise pollution, raising the awareness of guests of disruptive noise, a parking space set aside for the Auto’trement association (car sharing) and supply of a bicycle to coach drivers.
Food practices
Fair-trade coffee and tea, free-range chicken, salad for no charge and as many vegetables as you can eat, recycling of bread along with another association, non-smoking restaurant, use of local and organic or seasonal produce.
Social practices
Receiving trainees, training people in difficulty through aided employment, employment of disabled persons, management and orientation of Ciarus by 20 voluntary members. At Ciarus everywhere is accessible to people with reduced mobility. In 2002, we obtained "Tourism and Disability" approval.
The Éthic étapes charter
The Éthic étapes charter which Ciarus has followed since 1986, guarantees the quality of the services from all points of view (comfort, food, cultural and sports activities, compliance with applicable legislation). It also covers the qualification of personnel and their motivation in their job of receiving people.
Here I am given the opportunity to experience tolerance, solidarity and peace work
Ciarus supports and initiates action that reflects its values, such as calls for solidarity, participation in militant action, cork collections, petitions for cancelling third-world debt, work against the use of antipersonnel mines, exhibitions of photographs of oil slicks, information about AIDS, and exchanges about European citizenship or the culture of peace. When you come here, you will have the freedom to take part or get informed.
